Harbour scenes

I have recently started experimenting with a more naive figurative form using the same palette as the large abstract canvases. I am exhibiting these paintings in Thompson's Gallery in Aldeburgh (www.thompsonsgallery.com) and the Sarah Samuels Fine Paintings Gallery in Chester (www.sarah-samuels.co.uk). I am finding this work refreshing and fun to do, and it runs happily alongside the large abstracts.

Bronze man

I have always been intrigued by sculpture and have recently been offered the opportunity to learn more about the lost wax process, thanks to Ian Middleton a good friend and sculptor. I am using Walking Man to learn this art, which I originally carved from old wooden beams.

Shore Abstracts

I am finding myself increasingly intrigued by the shapes, textures and colours of the shore: both natural and manmade . These include a variety of flotsam and jetsam, such as rusty old oil drums, bits of fishing rope and seaweed; the crumbly paint of upturned fishing boat hulls; and the patterns and contours of rocks, clay, sand and shingle.
